Reiki Shares
Practice and fun and good vibes, oh my!
My Reiki Journey
My reiki journey started in the closet.
I had always thought about getting attuned but never pulled the trigger.
After my partner had an accident and needed to focus on healing, I finally decided it was time to get a little backup.
I wanted a boost of healing energy and figured now was as good as ever.
I found a reiki teacher that I connected with and we planned a date for the attunement.
It was wonderful! ✨
I used reiki discreetly from that point on.
It was infused into everything I did and I practiced with my partner.
We had combined Reiki I and II together so I also started practicing with distance reiki.
Almost 2 years to the date, I found a studio and got attuned to Reiki III (shoutout to Source Connection).
I also found out that they hosted regular reiki shares.
I suddenly realized that I hadn’t really talked about reiki with the people in my life.
Let alone I’d never really practiced reiki in person with anyone.
Thinking about going to a reiki share gave me some trepidation.
Even with all my practice in metaphysics - tarot, guides, etc - practicing reiki 1 on 1 felt a little intimidating.
I definitely didn’t feel ready to practice on a paying client!
So I went to my first reiki share and it was AMAZING, to say the least.
So what is a Reiki Share?
The agenda will be slightly different, depending on the group you go with.
In general, it’s a time for you to ask questions, share helpful tips, and practice reiki with other practitioners.
It’s a safe space for you to try new techniques and ask about things you’ve seen or heard online.
If you’re looking for a judgment free place to practice, then I suggest finding a reiki share near you.
The Results
Practice breeds confidence.
Each reiki share I attended, I felt more confident in my reiki abilities, which in turn boosted all my other intuitive gifts.
I even felt confident enough to volunteer to lead the reiki shares.
Taking a leading role in them helped to increase my confidence even more.
With more confidence, I talked more freely about my reiki offerings with people.
Talking more freely about my reiki, led me to make new friends and also new clients.
So maybe you’re currently in the reiki closet.
You’ve been attuned but have never taken any other steps.
For some people, that’s where their journey ends.
They get Reiki I and that’s all they need for this lifetime.
If you’re still reading this, then I’m willing to bet that you are looking for the next step.
Something that takes you a little outside your comfort zone and pushes you to grow.
The solution is a reiki share.
Confidence increase
This was one of the biggest benefits I noticed right away. Simply practicing reiki with other people helped me to feel more confident when I was on my own. Even the way I thought about reiki made me feel more powerful.
Builds intuition
I noticed a strong increase in my intuition when I started to fully express what I was sensing. The more you practice, the stronger your intuition muscles get. By taking risks and sharing what I picked up, I began to trust my intuition even more! (And that’s saying something after reading tarot for about 15 years at that point in my life).
Community
Making new friends that shared some of my viewpoints on spirituality was a game changer. In our digital world, it can sometimes be hard to meet new people. A reiki share allows you to network with like-minded people.
Extra Reiki
Sometimes we forget to stop and get reiki for ourselves. We constantly think about how to share reiki with others, and we forget to receive it! Part of the reiki share practice is getting on the table and letting someone else practice on you. The extra boost of reiki always helps to give energy and work through any issues I’m having.
Plus being in a space with so many other people all practicing reiki is like ripples in a pond. Everyone practicing sends their own ripple and it all adds together to create a profoundly high concentration of reiki goodness!
Fun!
Honestly, a reiki share is just fun. Hanging out with friends, talking about reiki, intuition, guides, and all the other stuff that you might not get to talk about very often. There’s always a lot of laughing involved because everyone is having such a fun time.
Tips For Your 1st (or 100th) Reiki Share
Set an intention - Before you get there, set an intention. Sometimes it’s just learning something new, sometimes it’s about healing, and sometimes it’s just about helping.
Adopt the Beginner’s Mind - Pretend every reiki share is your first one. Go in wanting to learn and practice and try new things.
Bring crystals - Bring or wear any crystals that could use some extra energy. I’ve found that every crystal loves some extra reiki. Even if I don’t use it deliberately in the share, I will always bring a few to leave in my bag, just so they can bask in the extra energy.
Invite your guides - Make a point to invite any of your guides with you during the share. When leading one, I always like to make a point to invite any guides, angels, and more into the space so that everyone has a safe and wonderful time.
The Hardest Part
One of the hardest parts is just making the first move to get there.
Especially when it’s a new place and you might not know anyone there.
It’s a risk that’s well worth taking.
If you’re still not sure if a studio is right for you, try booking a reiki appointment with one of the practitioners first.
This will tell you right away if the studio is a good fit.
If that’s not an option, I say, jump anyways!
Go feet first into the pool of “trying new things”.
Even if it’s terrible (which it won’t be), it’s only temporary and the worst you’ve lost is a little bit of money and time.
If anything, you’ve learned exactly what to look for in the next one!
