Reiki Your Way

Do Reiki your way and follow your intuition.

Whether I’m teaching a Reiki I beginner’s class or a Reiki III master/teacher class, students always have the same question.

“How?”

The beginners just want to know “how” to do Reiki the right way.

The experts want to know “how” to know the right hand placement.

My answer is always the same...

“Trust your intuition.”

That’s it. You can stop reading now, that’s the post. 😅

For real, if you did that every time you asked how to do something with Reiki, you would always have the correct answer.

Of course, listening and trusting our intuition isn’t always the easiest.

It takes practice, and that’s one thing I love about this Reiki journey.

Normal people come to Reiki I with barely a hunch that they’re needing something to change, that they’re ready to really grow.

Just 30 days later, they’ve built up this incredible intuition muscle and the Universe has helped them to shed the old version of them.

(Sometimes it’s dramatic, sometimes it’s not. Either way, it’s beautiful to see.)

One of the best things I teach is that the uses of Reiki are only limited by your imagination.

I’ve read it 100 times, my Reiki Teacher included it in her manuals, and I include it in mine.

It’s an important message and something that a lot of students have a hard time grasping.

It makes teaching incredibly easy AND difficult at the same time.

I’ve been developing my psychic gifts and intuition for over 20 years, so using my intuition is like using my ears.

It’s a natural extension of how I view the world around me.

Part of teaching Reiki is showing new students how to trust that inner knowing, however it shows up for them.

And even the way intuition speaks is only limited by your imagination!

Where To Start

If you’re not sure where to start, go back to the basics.

What were the first things you learned about Reiki?

This could have been something you learned in class, in a Reiki share, during attunement, or reading a book.

(If you’ve never been attuned to Reiki, let me know! I have a growing waitlist, or if you want to get in sooner, I can recommend a few great studios in the Phoenix area that have open classes.)

Maybe it was some hand placements, maybe it was chakra balancing, maybe it was sending distance Reiki.

Try out something simple and then let your intuition take over.

Trust the intuitive nudges that you get.

It’s Yours!

There are two wonderful things about Reiki that make it easy to experiment with:

  1. Reiki is intelligent. Reiki will flow where it needs to go because it’s working with your Higher Self and will be directed by the body. It knows where it needs to go, so no matter your hand placement or location, it will go to the spot it’s needed most.

  2. Reiki does no harm. Reiki can do no harm. Period. There’s no risk of hurting yourself or someone else when you’re experimenting with something. So try something new!

This means there’s no risk of “messing something up” with Reiki.

You’re free to do it any way that you want.

There’s a look of relief that passes over a student’s face when they finally realize that there is no wrong answer to using Reiki on themselves, friends, or clients.

Tips & Tricks

A few ideas on how to really do Reiki your way.

  • Experiment with new things - If you’ve ever thought, “can I Reiki this?”, the answer is yes. Just try it. At the very best, it helps and you see a noticeable change. At the very worst, nothing happens and apparently that thing doesn’t want Reiki.

    • The list of “things” is endless. Food, crystals, plants, pets, dishwashers, printers, computers, phones, cars, airplanes, and coffee to name just a few.

  • Do it every day - Make time for daily Reiki. Give yourself some Reiki when you’re stuck in traffic. Give your plant some Reiki while you water it. Give your pet some Reiki while you pet them. It can be done with all the little things all the time, it doesn’t have to be a big production with solitude and deep meditation (at least not every time 😉).

  • Have fun with it - Doing Reiki is fun and makes you feel good, so keep it lighthearted. And leave all your expectations at the door. Do it just for the hell of it. If it helps, then great! If it doesn’t, then nothing changed, oh well.

    • Turn it into a game. Send Reiki to something and then note it in your journal. See how you feel after, see how that thing responds to it. If you really want to validate how well Reiki works, keep that list for a week and you’ll see how much your life improves. Really commit and go 90 days and your life will be glowing by the end of it.

A Little Extra Help

If you made it this far, then we have a few things in common.

We both love learning about Reiki.

We’re both committed to continuing our Reiki journey.

We both love helping other people grow (after all, that’s our “job” as “healers”).

And sometimes we want a little extra help to keep ourselves accountable to our own growth and healing.

I created The Reiki Reboot to help Reiki practitioners reconnect to their Reiki gifts and to help hold them accountable to the daily practices that keep them moving up in their journey.

If you’re looking for some extra support and accountability, then the Reiki Reboot is a perfect match.
