The Morning Meditation

Get your morning started right with some good energy work.

I recently found a note from a Reiki session I had a long time ago that said I needed to do more energy work every day.

The note from the practitioner was literally “meditate like you shower”.

A reminder that, just as I shower every day for physical hygiene, I needed to meditate every day for the same reason.

It’s interesting to find because I feel like I’ve had my morning meditation for forever!

I can’t think of a morning where I haven’t done at least some kind of energy work.

Sometimes it’s 5 minutes, but most days I like to schedule 15 minutes in the morning to do a quick meditation.

I prioritize my morning meditation to the same degree that I prioritize a shower.

If I make time for one, I make time for the other.

It changes as needed, but here’s the current outline.

My Morning Meditation

  1. Grab a crystal and headphones

  2. Set a timer and turn on frequency music

  3. Use the Silva method to count in

  4. Charge up my chakras

  5. Take 3 supernatural breaths

  6. Do a quick crystal charge

  7. Fill myself up with light from the Astral Temple

  8. Set up my Reiki Shield Aura (RSA)

  9. Count out

It can seem like a lot, but it goes quickly.

Again, I only take about 10-15 minutes to run through this routine.

If I have more time, I like to move slowly.

So let’s break it down.

Choose Your Crystal

I like to meditate with a crystal to help supercharge the morning.

I’m currently using a piece of Elestial Smokey Quartz because I feel like it grounds me into my body and super charges the rest of the meditation.

Sometimes I change it up and sometimes I even go without.

You can choose what you’re looking for a little help with in the day, or have it coincide with the day of the week or the season.

Citrine, amethyst, clear quartz, rose quartz, sodalite, or selenite are pretty great options that cover a large variety of starts to the day.

Choose Your Music

I have a few different playlists I like to choose from.

Some is frequency music, so that I can more easily achieve a theta or alpha brainwave state.

Sometimes it’s just nature sounds with music to help me relax.

Lately I’ve been enjoying silence as part of the meditation.

Try them all out and see what works best for you.

Count In

I learned this method during a class with MindValley.

The teacher instructed us on a way to “count in” to meditations.

I’d seen different techniques, but this one seemed to stick the most.

I count “three, three, three” while visualizing the number three.

Then “two, two, two” while visualizing the number two.

Then “one, one, one” while visualizing the number one.

I take one final breath and settle into the meditation.

The last breath helps to clear anything out and really get me focused.

Another technique to count in is to count down from ten to one.

When I make time for a quick induction like this, meditations are deeper and more focused.

Chakra Charge

After getting settled, I first connect with my Earth Star chakra, which is a few feet below you into the earth.

I bring that energy up, around my aura, to meet my Soul Star chakra a few feet above the crown chakra.

Once I’m connected to the Earth and the Universe, I pull that energy down into my crown chakra.

I spend a few moments there to make sure it’s aligned and spinning and then move to my brow chakra.

I repeat this for every chakra until I get down to my root chakra.

I charge that up and then connect it back down to the Earth Star chakra.

At this point I visualize a full circuit moving through my energetic system and plugged into the Universe.

There are some days that this takes almost the whole time and some days this happens quickly.

Some days I spend extra time at the heart and other days it’s all at the crown.

Trust your intuition and know that it will guide you when to move on from one chakra to the next.

Supernatural Breaths

In Becoming Supernatural, Dr. Joe Dispenza shares a meditative breathing technique where you flex your perineum, lower stomach, and upper abs while pulling your energy up to your crown.

It helps to pull energy out of your body and to activate your toroidal field.

I call these supernatural breaths, and I do three of these to help cycle out any old energy sitting stagnant in my body.

Check out the book here for more of the details.

Quick Crystal Charge

This technique came from Psychic Witch

I visualize a large crystal in front of, behind, above, below, and each side (6 total).

Usually it’s selenite, but you could visualize any crystal to help with your specific intentions.

I visualize the crystals charging Universal energy into my heart and then sharing that heart energy back out into the universe.

Mat Auryn gives more details and has a whole exercise for this in his book, check it out for even more details.

The Astral Temple

There are several teacher that talk about your inner temple that you can visit to gain knowledge and power.

The teaching finally clicked when I learned from a recent teacher, Dameos

He teaches about going to the Astral Temple to consecrate tools and do rituals.

I very recently started adding this to my morning meditation routine.

I visit my Astral Temple and allow the Sun to fill me up with an enormous amount of light.

I let it sit in me and charge up all my cells and power up my entire body.

If I have any excess or some wants to escape, I’ll use it to power up the crystal that I’m holding as well.

Reiki Shield Aura

As the final step, I seal it all in and set some protection with the Reiki Shield Aura (The RSA).

Connect to Reiki, let it fill your aura, and then draw the Reiki symbols you’re attuned to into your aura.

I find that it helps to seal in all the energy work I’ve done during the meditation, and it also helps to set up boundaries for my energy through the day.

Count Out

When I’m done with all these steps, I do a quick review to see if anything needs a little bit of extra energy.

If everything looks good, I count up, one to five.

When I count to five, I open my eyes, do a few quick stretches, and then get my day started.

Summary

  1. Count in

  2. Charge Chakras

  3. Supernatural breaths

  4. Crystal charge

  5. Astral Temple

  6. RSA

  7. Count out

This can take anywhere from 10 to 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

Once you get into the flow it moves pretty quickly and allows you to cover a lot of areas in a short amount of time.

As usual, check in with your intuition and experiment a little on your own.

Take what works and sub out the parts that don’t.

Have fun and know that the important part is that you’re taking time for your energy hygiene.
