Today's Magical Toolbox - 11/01/2025
Magical tools I reach for every day!
I realized that if I tried to do this in parts, that I would never remember what the last part was.
So this new category is always going to be by date.
My magic toolbox is always expanding and growing and that’s part of what makes a magical life so much fun.
When I look back on my journals from the last year, it’s cool to see what I’ve learned, adapted, and brought into my daily practices.
It’s also great to see the growth and the changes that I’ve made
So here’s the top tools that I’m currently using, stay tuned for the next one and we’ll both see what’s changed, what’s upgraded, and what’s been set back on the shelf.
The Story
A long time ago, I saw a meme (or maybe a tiktok?) where someone referred to all the parts of their knowledge as tools.
They described how a contractor has a shed full of all the tools that they could possibly need, but each day they load up their toolbox and then heads out to the job site.
They knows that if they needs a tool, it’s still there, but they might not have immediate access to it.
I think of all the metaphysical modalities in the same way.
Everything I’ve learned goes into the toolshed, and each day I pick and choose the tools I think that will help me most with the projects of the day.
I’ll always keep my hammer with me, but sometimes there will be an odd project where I dust off the cobwebs and get deep into something again.
So what’s in my current toolbox? What am I doing daily to create a magical life?
Reiki ✨
Ever since I was attuned to Reiki 3, this has been a constant in my toolbox.
It’s my “ole reliable” and usually the first thing I reach for in any situation.
The primary reason for this is twofold and I teach it in every class.
Reiki is intelligent.
Reiki does no harm.
That means that I don’t always have to know the how, I can just reach for it and get to work.
I know that I’m not going to make anything worse when I bring Reiki into it.
Whether it’s a computer at work that won’t stop giving an error message, my car that won’t start, or my knee hurting again, Reiki is there to help with the job.
It works on buildings, crystals, cars, people, animals, plants, and literally any other type of object or situation you can think of.
Using it also helps to keep me calm, which allows me to be fully receptive to everything happening around me.
It also tends to heighten and focus my intuition so I’m aware of more, which is great in almost any situation.
Crystals
If Reiki is my Swiss Army Knife™, then crystals would be a power drill.
A bit more focused use, but just as useful in almost any situation.
No matter the occasion, you will find me with at least one crystal on me.
On a bracelet, necklace, or ring, in a pocket, or at the very least in my bag.
I pick out crystals based on the day I’m going to have and what projects I’m tackling.
My current go-tos are:
Citrine - for joy and abundance and sunshine ☀️
Blue Kyanite - for protection and grounding
Bronzite - for strong leadership and decision making
Aventurine - for luck and prosperity 💰
Green Kyanite - as a reminder to focus from the heart
Black Tourmaline - for grounding and rooted stability
Each day is a little different, so I pick and choose which ones I think are really going to help me the most.
The easiest way for you to find a new crystal is to just go visit your local crystal or metaphysical shop.
I guarantee they will have a small selection with themes and notes about each crystal.
Find one that shows the qualities you’re looking for and then find the one that calls to you the most.
And of course, always ask for help. I’ve always found staff the most excited to offer help when asked.
Affirmations
Although the affirmations change throughout the year, I never stop doing them.
I have hand-drawn notes on my computer, affirmation cards on the bathroom vanity, and typed up notes on my screen.
Some are created by me, by friends, and of course, from Louise Hay.
Louise Hay is the affirmation authority.
If you’re ever struggling to find one, check out literally any book of hers and you’ll find one that suits your needs.
I start my morning with an affirmation as soon as I get out of bed, and end my day with them as I journal.
The key is to pick something that’s somewhat believable and then grow from there.
I also like to affirmation stack things that I already know I do well so that my subconscious believes all of them.
An example of an affirmation stack I use is, “I am joy. My income is constantly increasing. I am healthy.”
I am joy - This is an easy one for me so I fully believe it with 110% of myself.
My income is constantly increasing - I’ve struggled with money issues in the past, so this one feels a little iffy, but I mostly believe it.
I am healthy - Another easy one so I’m back to 100%.
Those are affirmations I choose to believe and within my frame of reference.
Then as little things happen throughout the day, I build my belief in them and they get even stronger.
Segment Intending
I’m not even sure what tool to compare this to. Maybe a drone? (Is that even a tool for a toolbox?? Guess that depends on the job site 😅)
Segment Intending is a tool that I learned from Abraham Hicks, many years ago.
The quick overview is that your day is broken up into different segments.
The key to manifesting is to start each segment with an intention.
The segments can be as big as your whole day, or as small as your next meeting. They all count.
So before getting in my car to go to work I say, “I intend for this to be a safe, quick, and easy drive.”
The intention allows the Universe to help align everything to work as easily as possible and helps your thoughts to attract what you actually want.
You choose what you’re thinking about and then the Universe delivers.
Do you need to segment intend for every drive? Of course not.
At some point your thoughts naturally line up with what you’re intending.
But let me tell you, rush hour traffic on the drive to the office, tends to get me into some negative feelings real quick, so I continue to practice it.
It’s easy to skip for the good things because you’re mind is already focusing on all the good things happening.
With Reiki classes, I sometimes skip it because I’m already intending so much good that I don’t need to catch my thoughts and redirect them.
But in the office, my thoughts tend to get a little more negative, so segment intending is super important.
I make a point to segment intend the day ahead, each meeting, and even my lunch break.
Try it and you’ll be amazed at how much easier things start to be.
Summary
I’ve been using these tools for quite some time and don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Try them out for yourself and see if adding something to your toolbox helps.
Maybe you’ve had the tool for a long time and were never sure how to use it correctly.
Try it out today and see what happens!
And if you’re curious for other tools, let me know and I’ll keep sharing.
