7-Day Reiki

Distance Reiki for your future self!

First off, this is a Reiki share appreciation post.

I’ve done Reiki for a while, and when I started participating in Reiki shares, it really integrated into my life.

Reiki shares allow a safe space for you to practice and ask questions.

Plus it’s a great way to meet new people.

Not only do you build community with like-minded humans, but you’re able to share ideas and learn new things (at least that’s true in a good Reiki share 😉).

But I don’t want to get distracted. See Reiki Shares for all the amazing benefits.

While at one of these great Reiki shares, the teacher reminded us that we could send our future selves Reiki.

We were discussing how to find the time to do self Reiki when we have a busy week.

After discussing it with the group, we had the specific thought of sending it to meetings or potentially stressful situations you knew were coming up the week ahead.

I took the new idea home and tried it.

I started a meditation and sent some Reiki to a few meetings I knew I had coming up that week.

One of my Reiki guides suggested I should just do my entire day.

It didn’t matter whether I would be stressed or thought a day might be harder, just Reiki the whole day!

This was on a Sunday afternoon, so I took time to send Reiki to my Monday self.

Then I moved through each day of the week.

Spending a few moments sending Reiki to the day and to myself.

Not only was it refreshing to review my week ahead of time, but I knew the extra Reiki energy would come in handy.

The week in question was stressful as hell.

Each time I was feeling low on energy, I remembered that I had some waiting for me in reserve.

So I would take a few deep breaths and deliberately receive the Reiki I had sent.

It was a lifesaver.

Needless to say, I survived the week just fine.

At one point I was listening to a podcast and the host was talking about planning your week ahead of time on Sunday.

I tried combining both practices the next week.

I reviewed my todos and projects that I had and checked my calendar.

Then I did my Reiki meditation for the week ahead.

I kept an eye on my calendar and sent energy to specific events, days, projects, people, and anything that came up as I reviewed my week.

This also served as a sort of intuitive exercise for myself on the week ahead.

I took a few notes on what I had observed about each event, just to keep note of what was happening.

Then I went about my week.

Some of my notes proved to come true, and other didn’t. But in each case, I knew I had my back with the extra Reiki energy I had already sent myself.

Whether it was the focus, the Reiki, the planning, or some combination of it all, it made everything flow a lot easier.

Here’s the 7 Day Reiki (7DR) technique.

  1. Schedule an hour of time, just to be sure you’re not rushed.

    • This works best on a Sunday or Saturday to plan the week ahead. But use whatever day your week starts with.

  2. Grab your supplies

    • Your planner, your journal, a pen, incense

  3. Open your sacred space

  4. Go “Reiki on”

  5. Start by doing some self Reiki

    • Check in with yourself and Reiki any things that you’re currently focused on or distracted by

  6. Send Reiki to your future self on Monday (your day 1).

    • If you know you have a meeting, send Reiki there.

    • If you know you have a specific event, send Reiki to that.

    • Sometimes it helps to use a specific symbol to achieve what you’re looking to do.

      • You might use CKR for a meeting that you need a boost of energy in.

      • You might use SHK for a doctor appointment you have that you’re a little concerned by.

  7. Then repeat step 6 for each day of your week.

  8. When you’ve finished, take a moment to check in with yourself again and Reiki any remaining issues that are floating around in your mind.

  9. Take notes on anything you noticed as you sent Reiki to your week.

    • This is an important part of flexing your intuition muscle. Even if you’re wrong the first time, you’ll improve over time.

  10. Close your sacred space

  11. Take a few deep breaths, wiggle your fingers and toes, and get back into your body.

As always, follow your intuition and listen to your guides for any changes or upgrades you can make.

Whether that’s for your week or to the practice itself.

The future isn’t set in stone.

Just by intuitively viewing the future, you can change it.

If you saw a meeting that went south, review how you can prevent that from happening.

If you saw a confrontation come up, think about how you can respond differently so that it reduces the energy from it.

I have to admit that I haven’t done this consistently.

I’ve been doing it the last few weeks (because I knew that my work was going to be stressful) and it has helped me to power through it all with grace.

Speaking from experience, the dentist visit I Reiki-d was one of the easiest and quickest of my adult life. 😅 🦷

Try it out and see how things flow in your life.

Of course I use it on weeks I know are going to be stressful.

My next lesson is to remember to use it every week.
