Reiki: Morning, Noon, & Night
How to make time for Reiki in your busy day.
As humans, we like to make things complicated.
I’m not sure if it’s part of the ego or if it’s just how we’re wired, but there are a lot of things that are easier than we make them seem.
One of those things is making time for Reiki.
It’s an excuse I hear a lot in Reiki shares and Reiki classes.
“I’m already busy, how do I make time for my Reiki practice?”
And I totally get it.
Many students are working more than one job, have kids, a family, and a slurry of other responsibilities.
When we’re caught up in the hustle of the week, it can be hard to make time for something that seems unnecessary.
(Of course, there’s a lesson on priority and how necessary filling your own cup is, but that’s not the point of today’s topic.)
Today we’re covering some “sneaky” ways to bring Reiki into your daily life.
Taking as little as 15 minutes a day will create a drastic improvement in the quality of literally everything.
Plus it’s not even a solid 15 minutes, so it’s even easier to squeeze in!
Morning
The first place I get my Reiki is during my morning meditation.
On most days, I aim for a 15 minute practice, which includes Reiki.
But on the days I hit snooze one or two times (or five 😅), I shorten it to 5 minutes.
5 minutes with my headphones in and some meditation music to go “Reiki On” and put my hands on my heart.
That’s all it takes!
Another sneaky way I get my Reiki in each morning is during my shower.
As I start my shower, I turn Reiki on and draw CKR on each of my hands.
Then as I do my normal routine, I intentionally send Reiki as well!
I figure, I’m already doing the shower, I might as well work some Reiki into it.
Between a quick meditation and a shower, it’s easy to get some early morning Reiki to start my day.
Noon
The next place I squeeze Reiki into my day is during my lunch break.
I’ve got another two tricks that are quick and easy to do. 🤗
The first is right before I eat my lunch.
As I sit in the lunchroom, I take a moment to connect with Reiki and send it to my food and to my stomach.
(I do this discreetly underneath the table, one hand on my stomach and one under my food.)
The food always tastes so much better and I seem to digest it way easier.
After I eat, I take a quick walk around the building.
Walking after eating has been proven to be great for your digestion and your health.
My secret is adding some Reiki.
Simply connect with Reiki as you start your walk and let it flow through you as you move.
It’s like a walking meditation and some extra Reiki.
Again, these are activities I’m already doing, and they’re made better with Reiki!
Night
Once I’m home from work, the first thing I do is have a snack.
There’s something about driving in rush hour that makes me hungry and slightly irritable. (Although I’m sure some Reiki could help that!)
And a light snack always helps to calm me down.
My partner knows I need a little time to decompress after said snack, and that’s where my next Reiki moment is squeezed in.
Once I’m changed, I sit down for another 5 minute meditation.
I put in my headphones and play some Reiki music with a timer for 5 minutes.
During that time, I connect with Reiki and will sit with my hands on my heart for the entire time. (And occasionally moving my hands if my intuition guides me.)
It can really be that quick and easy.
The next time that I connect with Reiki is when I use my Reiki box.
It’s part of my nightly journaling routine and it gives me a chance to Reiki myself and any other requests I currently have.
Other
Besides the usual morning, midday, and nighttime Reiki activities, there are tons of other ways to use Reiki throughout the day.
As I like to say, you’re only limited by your imagination! ✨
The best way to build a Reiki habit is to mix it in with things that you’re already doing.
Some examples include:
🪥 Reiki while brushing your teeth - You’re only using one hand anyways, so turn Reiki on and put the other hand on your heart or your stomach and let the Reiki flow.
😴 Reiki while making your bed - Send some extra Reiki to your bed when you make it in the morning and when you unmake it at night. Plus the added bonus of better sleep!
🚙 Reiki while you drive - This makes rush hour even more bearable. If you’re sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, put one hand on your heart and channel Reiki to yourself.
💪🏻 Reiki during your workout - If you’re already making time for your health (great job!) then you can incorporate Reiki into that. Whether you’re powerlifting, yoga-ing, or cardio-ing, you can add some Reiki to it. (You’ll also notice an decrease in recovery time.)
You can take any task and add Reiki to it.
So when someone tells me, “I don’t have enough time for Reiki”, it just means they’re not being creative enough with their practice!
Try it today.
Take one random task that you do every day and turn Reiki on before you start it.
Then let me know how it goes.
I have a sneaking suspicion that you’ll enjoy the task more, the task will be easier, AND you’ll find even more creative ways to bring Reiki into your life.
